Breaststroking Through the Snow

Duff here, We had significant Snowfall last week. How much? I would go outside, and once again that White Stuff was coming down. After a time, It seemed that The Flakes would never end. Kind of discouraging, If You understand My drift. But on the Flip side, My Winter Wonderland returned. I romp and Play. Make sharp turns and skid. Dive into Snow Piles and come out on the other side. Living unstuck.

This time was a Real Challenge, though. As I survey My world, I am 8” off the ground. The Mass of snow seemed Insurmountable. I would look over Plowed Edges and only saw more Snow. But I am Intrepid. I smelled a Scent I couldn’t resist. And Breaststroked through the Snow to check it out. I’m not even sure My Paws touched the Ground. But I made progress and reached the Designated Spot. Even Stretched to reach My Goal. Living unstuck.

How about You? Are You an Insurmountable Force? Or have You reached That Immoveable Object? I say: Never give up. What’s the fun in that? Be open to the Impulse of Exploration. I have found It brightens My life considerably. Live unstuck. #unstuck-living#impulse-of-exploration

You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore.

Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself

Don’t be so hard on yourself. The mom in E.T. (the movie) had an alien in her house for days and didn’t notice.

Duff here. I have many Opportunities to watch People. Since I’m a Dog, I seem Invisible. I tuck Myself away in a Corner and Observe what’s going on. I check People out as They drive down the Road. Such goings-on in My Small Town! Folks roar up behind Another and Quickly pass, Only to meet Their Buddy at the Next Stop Light. Amusing, to say the least. That’s being stuck.

To My point of View, the Biggest sticking Point? Being hard on Yourself. Never Good enough. Not as smart as Your Sister. (Not having anyone but Mom to compare Myself with, I’m A-Okay.) Slow to Catch on. Car a little older. A Smaller house than what You think You should have. You know the Drill. But You can turn those thoughts around and love Yourself. Just the way You are. Living unstuck.

How about you? Tough on Yourself? Or are You Good Enough? I say: Let up on Yourself. Enjoy the day. Remember to breathe. Celebrate the Seasons, for They seem to pass All too Quickly. Let Imagined Slights go, for they Won’t matter in the Long Run. Compliment Yourself for what went right. And leave the rest Behind. I’ll be with You as We skip down the Road, living unstuck. #unstuck-living#letting-go

Overcoming Failure

Failure is an event. It is not who you are.

—Joel Osteen

Duff Here. I am known as the Encourager. Others might even call Me a Cheerleader. Those Who come to the Office at Unstuck Living feel They are deficient in some way. This might be due to a Small Detrimental Behavior: (I can’t get to work on time.) Or a Large One: (I told My boss off, and now I’m on Probation.) In any case, They are Still Okay inside Themselves. The Situation may take time to heal as They Regroup. But it will come Around, Especially with Me there to Help. That’s living unstuck.

Stuff happens. You may have created it. Or perhaps the Circumstance simply visited You. But You are not defined by this Occurrence. You are so Much More than what Happened. You are a Delight, a Wonder. You have your own Specific Talents and Skills. They are there for You to use. If You don’t, I will be there to Push You along. (That’s the Bichon Frise in Me, you know.) Living unstuck.

How about You? Does This feel like a Contrary Time to You? Want To Make Things better? I say: You can do It. And I will Help. I have not let You down yet. Not about to Begin now. We’ll move on This together. I’ve got Your Back. Live unstuck. #unstuck-living#overcoming-failure

Encouragement: Buying Stuff From Kids

Buy whatever kids are selling on card tables in their front yards.

—H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Duff here. Mom is big on Buying stuff from Kids, especially During those Hot Summer Months. As We tool down the road, She will spot a couple of Children, sitting at a table with any Sort of Item on it. Once it was Toys they had Outgrown. These Youngsters wanted to share what They had with others. (I, Myself, don’t tend to Share a Toy with Another Canine. Nope. A human, perhaps, for That may end in a Pat on the head.) Mom carefully Slowed Down and Stopped. Greeting the kids, She gave then some green Paper Stuff and Completed the Transaction. The playthings were then Donated, so They could find Other Owners. Living unstuck.

Another time, We came across some Little People selling cups of Lemonade. It was hot. They were out By the Street. There was no Shade. Looking at them, I could tell They weren’t having any fun. This time, Mom took Me with Her to make their acquaintance. I Played with them, romping about in My imitable Doggy style. Mom then purchased A Large Cup of Lemonade. The kids were ecstatic! Even more so when She overpaid Them. (She probably didn’t have any Change on Her.) Now that’s living unstuck.

How about You? Do You slow down and Stop for Kids selling things? Doesn’t matter what that Thing is, Your gesture is Priceless. I say: You can’t afford Not to. Helps lift Their spirits and Bring happiness to The Day for All Concerned. Live unstuck. #unstuckliving#encouragement
